History

Le Petit Poucet opened in 1910 as an open-air café.  Although we don’t know how the name was chosen, we can imagine a more heavily forested Ile de la Jatte at the time, which would have made it difficult to find the location. Over the past century, deforestation and urbanization have changed Le Petit Poucet, which became a neighbourhood café in the 1960s, and was ultimately rebuilt as a restaurant in 1990.
